Background Checks Refund Policy

Overview

Muvr values transparency and fairness in our recruitment process. We charge a non-refundable background check fee of $50 to contractors applying to join Muvr. However, we understand that there may be exceptional circumstances where a refund may be warranted. This policy outlines the conditions and process for requesting a refund.

1. Non-Refundable Policy

The $50 background check fee is generally non-refundable. This fee covers the cost of conducting the necessary background checks. By submitting your application, you acknowledge and agree to this non-refundable fee.

2. Exceptional Circumstances

Refund requests will only be considered under exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate payment: If you have been charged more than once for the background check fee, you may be eligible for a refund of the duplicate payment(s). Please provide proof of the duplicate charges when submitting your refund request.
  • Administrative error by Muvr, such as
    • Incorrect Amount Charged: If an amount other than the specified $50 is charged due to a processing error.
    • Processing fee for a withdrawn application: If the background check fee was charged even though you withdrew your application before the process was initiated. Withdrawal must be notified via email to onboarding@muvr.io
    • Data Entry Errors: If incorrect information input by the company leads to a charge being processed erroneously.
    • Technical Glitches: If a system malfunction causes an incorrect or duplicate fee to be charged.
3. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Reach out to our customer service team at onboarding@muvr.io within 14 days of the payment date and provide the following information:
    • Your full name
    • Email
    • Phone number
    • Date of payment
    • Reason for the refund request
  2. Review: Our team will review your request and respond within 10 business days. If additional information is needed, we will contact you.
  3. Decision: You will be notified if your refund request is approved via email.

Failure to follow this refund process may result in the denial of the refund.

4. Avoiding Bank Disputes

To avoid unnecessary bank disputes, we kindly ask that you contact our customer service team first to resolve any issues regarding the background check fee. Initiating a bank dispute without contacting us may delay the resolution process. Bank disputes can take several weeks or even months to resolve, whereas contacting Muvr directly can lead to a faster and comprehensive resolution within a few business days. Some banks may charge fees for handling disputes and even hold your funds temporarily, adding an unnecessary financial burden on you.
